Places to go with the little ones on a rainy day
Don’t let the weather get you down! There are unlimited things to do in Cornwall for you and your children, even when it’s raining. Here’s a few of our favourite places to keep us entertained on a rainy day.
Tate St Ives
Tate St Ives is a family friendly gallery, with a calendar of varied exhibitions and displays, plus many events and activities throughout the year. It’s a great afternoon out for the kids to discover all kinds of art and even try some themselves!
The Eden Project
At The Eden Project, the kids can explore vibrant, tropical rainforests and search for fascinating plant life in the Mediterranean landscapes without even leaving Cornwall. Plus, their family activities and events during school holidays are always top notch.
Paradise Park and Jungle Barn
The award-winning Paradise Park, with JungleBarn indoor play centre located in Hayle, offers so much for all the family from incredible free flying bird shows, to Penguin photocalls and feeding the beautiful parrots. With the Otter Pool Cafe and the Bird In Hand Pub just opposite the entrance, there is a wide and tasty selection of food and drinks.
Cornwall Gold
There's so much to do at Cornwall Gold - with more than 18 acres to explore in the heart of Cornwall's mining landscape. The children can enjoy traditional gold panning and sift through the sand to find little gems and treasure.
And not to forget - Cornwall Gold also has a cool nine-hole crazy golf course, filled with different challenges throughout.

The Sweet Buzz of Sustainability: Beehives at Tregenna Castle Resort
27 June 2024
Nestled within our expansive 72-acre resort are now four hives, home to thousands of honey bees. We’re thrilled to bolster our sustainability efforts, which will benefit the environment, the local community (once honey production begins), and the resort itself. Bees play a crucial role in maintaining biodiversity. As pollinators, they are responsible for the reproduction of many plant species, which in turn supports a wide range of wildlife. By hosting beehives, Tregenna Castle Resort contributes to the health of local ecosystems. The presence of bees ensures the proliferation of native flowers and plants, fostering a rich and diverse habitat for other insects, birds, and small mammals.
