Perfect Match - Our guests Valentine's Love Stories
Love was in the air at Tregenna Castle this Valentine’s Day as we hosted a spectacular evening inspired by First Dates (Channel 4) – complete with our very own Fred Sirieix, the one and only Stef the Chef!
From the moment our glamorous guests arrived, they were treated to a red carpet welcome before being led to the bar, where they sipped on exquisite cocktails, expertly crafted to set the mood for a night of romance. After a toast to love, they were guided to their tables for a divine three-course meal, curated specially for the occasion.
But the magic didn’t stop there! We asked our couples to share their first date stories, and while some tales were too risqué to publish (we’ll leave those to the imagination), we received some truly heartwarming and hilarious entries.
After much deliberation, we crowned our winning couple – C and J from table 14 – for their exceptional storytelling and novella-worthy romance. Their prize? A one-night stay for two at Tregenna Castle!
Here’s their unforgettable love story…
A Love Story for the Ages: C & J
The rumble of souped-up engines echoed across the Tesco car park, a symphony of teenage rebellion on a Friday night. I was 17, cruising with my mates, feeling invincible. Then SHE appeared.
I’d never seen her before, this girl with eyes that could outshine the neon glow of the burger van. She marched straight over to my friend’s car where I was leaning in and, without a word, grabbed my phone.
“I’ll take that!” she said, her voice full of determination. She swiftly typed in her number and handed it back.
Five minutes later—chaos! One of our friends, showing off, crashed the car. And just like that, we were off to A&E. But guess who turned up in the waiting room, looking as radiant as ever, grinning like she knew something I didn’t? Fate had intervened.
From that night, the texts flew back and forth. Soon, we were dating. Two years later, we stood hand in hand at Tregenna Castle, saying “I do.”
Eighteen years on, with countless memories and two beautiful children, we found ourselves back at Tregenna Castle, filling out our Valentine’s dinner card, hoping for the chance to create yet another unforgettable memory—this time, for free!
A huge congratulations to C & J, and a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for a truly magical evening. Love stories like these are what make Tregenna Castle such a special place for romance, connection, and lifelong memories.
