72 hours in St Ives: our itinerary for the perfect weekend away
Nothing beats a Cornish mini-break - and three days is often the perfect length of time to relax, explore, and make the most of your time away.
With this in mind, here’s our idea of the perfect 72-hour-getaway in St Ives.
Day 1
After settling in, it’s time to start exploring. Take a stroll down the hill into St Ives and pick up an ice cream St Ives Coffee & Ice Cream by the harbour (believe us, it’s the best) then enjoy a walk along the beach.
Once you’ve had your fill of the cobbled streets and sea air, head back to Tregenna for a round of golf, a dip in the pool, or explore our subtropical gardens. Then, get dressed up in your finery (or simply come as you are) for dinner in The Brasserie.
Day 2
On day 2, venture a little further afield with a walk along the South West Coast Path. It promises gorgeous coastal scenery and sea views aplenty. Then, pack up a pasty (or two) and head on down to Godrevy Beach for some seal spotting.
After a day of adventures, meander back down the hill into town for dinner. We recommend the Seafood Cafe for fabulous fish dishes, tempting small plates, and all your favourite cocktails and Cornish beers.
Day 3
Begin your day with a full English breakfast at Tregenna. Then, pay a visit to the Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden.
And because no trip to the seaside would be complete without a visit to the chippy - grab yourself some fish and chips for lunch. We recommend Becks Fish and Chips or The Balancing Eel - both of which offer a takeaway or a dine-in service and are close to the beach.

The Sweet Buzz of Sustainability: Beehives at Tregenna Castle Resort
27 June 2024
Nestled within our expansive 72-acre resort are now four hives, home to thousands of honey bees. We’re thrilled to bolster our sustainability efforts, which will benefit the environment, the local community (once honey production begins), and the resort itself. Bees play a crucial role in maintaining biodiversity. As pollinators, they are responsible for the reproduction of many plant species, which in turn supports a wide range of wildlife. By hosting beehives, Tregenna Castle Resort contributes to the health of local ecosystems. The presence of bees ensures the proliferation of native flowers and plants, fostering a rich and diverse habitat for other insects, birds, and small mammals.
