250 Trees for 250 years at Tregenna
The Tregreener Project - Planting 250 trees for 250 years at Tregenna Castle Resort
Join us in celebrating 250 years at Tregenna! This month, we're planting an extra 250 trees to leave a lasting impact for generations to come!
Tregenna Castle Resort has been a beacon of hospitality and charm for 250 remarkable years. As we reflect on our legacy, we recognise the importance of preserving and nurturing the environment that has been integral to our story. In celebration of this milestone, we're embarking on a green initiative aimed at fostering sustainability and creating a greener future for all.
At the heart of our commitment lies a profound belief in the power of trees. Trees not only beautify our surroundings but also play a crucial role in mitigating climate change and preserving biodiversity. Therefore, we're proud to announce the planting of an additional 250 trees across our 72-acre resort, symbolising our dedication to environmental stewardship and leaving a lasting legacy for generations to come.
Why are we doing it?
The decision to embark on this additional tree-planting initiative stems from our unwavering commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. Here's why we're planting trees and why it matters:
- Combatting Climate Change: Trees act as natural carbon sinks, absorbing CO2 from the atmosphere and storing it in their biomass. By expanding our forested areas, we're contributing to carbon sequestration efforts, helping to mitigate the impacts of climate change.
- Enhancing Biodiversity: Forests provide habitat and food sources for a myriad of plant and animal species, promoting biodiversity and ecological balance. By diversifying our tree species, we're creating healthier ecosystems that support a wealth of life forms.
- Improving Air Quality: Trees play a crucial role in purifying the air by filtering out pollutants and releasing oxygen through photosynthesis. By planting trees, we're not only beautifying our surroundings but also improving air quality for our guests and the community.
- Preserving Natural Beauty: We're renowned for its stunning natural beauty, characterised by lush woodlands and panoramic vistas. By expanding our forested areas, we're preserving the land that has captivated visitors for centuries.
- Fostering Sustainable Tourism: As a responsible steward of the environment, we recognise the importance of sustainable tourism practices. Our tree-planting initiative aligns with our broader efforts to minimise our ecological footprint and promote sustainable lifestyles among our guests.
Let's grow a greener future together!
What's going in the ground?

Among the varieties taking root are Some of the new trees being planted are English Oak, Field Maple, Silver Birch, Hornbeam, Beech, Crab Apple, Cherry, Rowan and Lime. Each species brings its unique beauty and ecological benefits, contributing to the richness and resilience of our landscape.
As we commemorate 250 years of Tregenna Castle Resort, we invite you to join us in this celebration of nature and sustainability. Together, we can plant the seeds of change and cultivate a greener, more resilient world for future generations to enjoy.
