Accessibility at our resort
Introduction
Tregenna Castle Resort is set within 72 acres of private, secure grounds and gardens. The hotel is situated on top of the hill and offers magnificent views of St Ives and the rugged North Coast of Cornwall. It is accessible, by car, from Treloyan Avenue and also by foot through a woodland path at the west of the estate with secure gated access. All access points into the resort and all public areas are manned by patrolled security and 24/7 CCTV.
Our aim is to provide all of our guests a safe and relaxing environment and an enjoyable, memorable stay.

Reception is open 24 hours a day and reservations are open from 09:00-21:00.

Reception
The Reception is accessible to our guests 24 hours a day.
Mobility services and hire
We have a wheelchair on-site for the use of our guests and also have a facility whereby we can arrange a wheelchair through St John’s Ambulance, for a small donation to that charity. We can also arrange for the rental of more substantial mobility equipment should the need arise.
Dog policy
Unfortunately, we have a strict ‘no dogs’ policy, on the estate. Our ‘no dogs’ policy on the estate includes leaving dogs inside of vehicles for any duration of time. An exception to this policy is made for service dogs.
Arrival and car parking facilities
The Hotel is reached off of Treloyan Avenue (A3074) through our main security patrolled gate.
There is ample parking at various sites around the hotel, totalling in excess of 200 spaces. In front of the hotel, there are 11 spaces with 5 of those dedicated to the disabled. The main car park is to the rear of the hotel with many more spaces in the car park beside the tennis courts, along the driveway and near to Castle Village (one of our self-catering complexes). There is a drop-off and turn around space in front of the hotel to enable easy access to the main reception area.
Access from the main car park is on the same level as the reception area and is well lit. Access to the hotel is available 24 hours a day as is access to the reception desk. Although we do not have any formal porters, we are happy to assist any of our guests with their baggage to and from their rooms. As we welcome coach-bound groups, we do provide a porterage service upon request.
Main reception and arrival
The main entrance is at the front of the hotel, through double doors that open upon a welcoming corridor which is approximately 5m wide and 30m long. It is also in this area that free WiFi is available. The reception area, which is manned 24/7, is carpeted and brightly lit, with additional seating.
Upon check-in, the reception staff will provide you with all the information that you would require for your stay including meal times, location of the Godrevy View Restaurant and Olives bar, leisure centre, and parking locations. Stationary, Bibles and extra keys are available upon request.
There is an elevator, located just off of the main reception area, for access to our rooms located on the upper floors.
Room facilities
All of our bedrooms are en suite, some with wheelchair access, have flatscreen plasma televisions with remote controls and telephones with an option for an outside line. The rooms include tea, coffee, and a kettle. Most of the rooms are situated within the hotel allowing easy access to the reception desk, bars, restaurant, bar, leisure centre and indoor pool.
Self-catering
Our self-catering properties range from one-bedroom cottages to five-bedroom lodges. All of the facilities are included with self-catering rental.

Restaurant, bar, function rooms, and public areas
The main body of the hotel is a two-storey structure dating back to 1774 with additions from the early and late 1800s. It is in this portion of the hotel where the bulk of the public areas are located, just off the main corridor.
There are also public lavatories, a baby change area and an accessible lavatory located just opposite the main reception desk and cloakroom/WC facilities in the Trelawney room.
The Brunel Lounge is a comfortable, quiet place to sit and read or enjoy a beverage or even watch a little television. It also provides access to the Trelawney Room, which is the main function room. The Trelawney Room is a large, brightly lit function room with an attractive Victorian Cornice style ceiling, easily capable of seating 250 people. The Godrevy View Restaurant is on the opposite side of the main corridor, and is the main dining venue for breakfast and dinner. Olives Bar offers lunch, cocktails/drinks and is located opposite the main reception. It is through Olives bar that you can reach the outside patio, and wine and dine al fresco in the spring and summer. Throughout the main building, situated along the central corridor, are comfortable chesterfields and wing back chairs where you can relax, or perhaps log on to our free WiFi.
Leisure facilities
Tregenna Leisure is situated on the lower ground floor and comprises a small cardio fitness studio with running, rowing and cycling machines and an indoor pool. There are two entrances to Tregenna Leisure, one floor down in the elevator from the main reception, or directly from outside on the perimeter road. The entry from the perimeter road is down a flight of steps, so would not be suitable for disabled users.
The dimensions of the indoor pool are; 40ft x 20ft with a maximum depth of 4ft. There is also a small shallow child’s pool situated in the indoor pool area. .
Tregenna Leisure also boasts two all-weather tennis courts, an indoor badminton or basketball court and croquet lawn.
The heated outdoor pool is located just beside the hotel within easy reach, overlooking the town of St Ives and the north coast of Cornwall. The outdoor pool is open from mid-May through to the beginning of September.
The dimensions of the outdoor pool are 50ft x 25ft with a maximum depth of 4.5ft. Wheelchair access to the outdoor pool is restricted, but can be accomplished. All of the Tregenna Leisure staff are qualified to administer emergency first aid and CPR.
Tregenna Castle Resort is privileged to have a 9 hole golf course surrounding the grounds, with magnificent views of the countryside and bay. It is a ‘pay and play’ course and club hire is available.
Conferences, functions, and weddings
There is one main indoor function room. The Trelawney room is capable of accommodating 250 people seated and is used for large conferences or functions.
The Trelawney room is located on the main level, carpeted and easily accessible to wheelchairs. Tregenna Castle Resort is also licensed to host civil marriage ceremonies, and has proven to be a wonderful venue for hundreds of weddings over recent years. An overhead projector, television and DVDs and flip charts are available for functions and conferences.
Castle Beauty
Castle Beauty offers a variety of treatments performed by our professional therapists, including Thalgo facials, Thalgo body treatments, Holistic treatments, waxing, manicures and more. Spa days and packages are also available to residents and non-residents alike. These can be booked directly through Castle Beauty or through the Reception desk. Castle Beauty is open from 09:00 six days per week. Castle Beauty is accessible to wheelchair-bound clients.
Additional info
Our aim is to meet the needs and requirements of all of our guests where possible. We will happily endeavour to meet our guests' dietary needs and cater to special requests, given notice. We will safely store our guests' valuable property and medications which has been deposited or offered for deposit, for safe custody. A copy of the Hotel Proprietors Act 1956 can be found at Reception.
We have many on-duty staff that are fully qualified in emergency first and CPR, in each department. All management are also well versed in emergency evacuation procedures. All fire exits are clearly marked, evacuation route plans and assembly points are posted throughout the hotel.
The housekeeping staff fully appreciate privacy and will respect the wishes of our guests at all times.
