The St Ives Food & Drink Festival is set to return to Porthminster Beach in May!

This free-to-attend, three-day event celebrates the rich culinary heritage of St Ives and promises a refreshed program that includes live music, chef demonstrations, family-friendly activities, and wellness offerings.

Chef Demonstrations: The Chef’s Fire Pit will feature live cooking sessions from renowned chefs such as Ashley Palmer-Watts of The Devonshire in Soho, Tom Brown of Pearly Queen in Shoreditch, food writer and vegetable grower Kathy Slack, and local talents like Jude Kereama of Kota & Kota Kai in Porthleven, Dorian Janmaat of Ardor in St Ives, and Ben Prior from Porthminster Beach Café.

Sunset Sessions: New to this year's festival are the ticketed Sunset Sessions, offering evening live music performances. The lineup includes DJ Norman Jay MBE on Friday, the duo Ferris & Sylvester on Saturday, and Bristol-based hip-hop act The Scribes on Sunday.

Family Activities: The festival caters to all ages with activities such as bouncy slides, sports games, face painting, and circus performances by Hotch Potch Performance. Additionally, attendees can explore the Porthminster Beach Café's kitchen garden, guided by gardeners Polly and Dan, to learn about the café's unique approach to sourcing fresh ingredients.

The St Ives September Festival is scheduled to take place from Saturday, September 13, to Saturday, September 27 this year.

This 15-day celebration of music, arts, and culture transforms the seaside town into a vibrant hub of activity, attracting visitors from near and far.

Venues and Events: The newly renovated St Ives Theatre, boasting a seating capacity of 312, will serve as the primary venue for headline music events. Other notable locations include St Ia Church,  and the St Ives Arts Club, each hosting a variety of performances and exhibitions. Attendees can anticipate over 250 events, ranging from live music concerts and art exhibitions to street entertainment, film screenings, workshops, and guided walks.

Highlights: The festival will commence with lively street entertainment  setting an energetic tone for the fortnight. Music enthusiasts can look forward to performances by artists such as Steve Knightley, frontman of Show of Hands, who is scheduled for a solo performance at St Ives Theatre on Friday, September 26. The Countrymen are set to ignite the opening night on Saturday, September 13, following their high-energy debut in 2022.
