St Michael’s Mount
One of Cornwall’s most mystical destinations is St Michael’s Mount, a small tidal island in Mount’s Bay. Sat proudly atop the island are a medieval castle and sub-tropical gardens, overlooking beautiful views of the bay. As you climb the stairs to the top keep an eye out for a heart-shaped stone. Rumour has it that when you stand on the stone you can still hear the heartbeat of a Giant, who according to legend once lived on the island.
The Eden Project
Attracting around a million visitors each year, The Eden Project is one of Cornwall’s most popular destinations and is instantly recognisable due to its greenhouse ‘biomes’, which house more than 135,000 plants from across the world. Whether you fancy exploring the towering trees of the tropically heated Rainforest Biome, or exploring the beautiful, brightly coloured flowers of the Meditteranean Biome, there are plenty of spots for you to capture photos that will brighten up your feed.
St Ives
It goes without saying that our hometown, St Ives, is by far our favourite place for capturing stunning photographs. One of Cornwall’s most popular hot spots, St Ives offers plenty of variety, from the harbour filled with colourful fishing boats to the golden sandy beach, and the winding cobbled streets. The view of St Ives Bay from our very own garden is absolutely breathtaking, and is a particularly popular spot with couples on their wedding day.
The Lost Gardens of Heligan
As one of the UK’s most popular botanical gardens, you can rest assured that there are plenty of stunning flowers and plants to photograph at The Lost Gardens of Heligan. From the beautiful light lavender of the Wisteria to the 100 different varieties of Dahlia, spring is a truly exceptional time to visit the gardens as the flowers begin to bloom. Make sure that you search out the rope bridge in the jungle, which is a popular spot for snapping shots.
The Minack Theatre
Perched on the cliffside of Porthcurno is Cornwall’s world-famous Minack Theatre. Perfectly positioned, the theatre overlooks a captivating view of the Atlantic Ocean and has been used to stage performances for more than 80 years. The theatre’s summer season runs between May and September, with a fascinating programme of opera, musicals, and drama entertaining thousands of tourists every summer.
Land’s End
Historically known as ‘Belerion’, meaning ‘place of the sun’, Land’s End is Cornwall’s westernmost point and is a fantastic spot for capturing panoramic views of the stunning Cornish coastline. Soak up the fresh sea air, grab a photo of the well-known signpost, and enjoy gazing out at the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean. Make sure that you keep an eye out for the odd dolphin jumping out of the water.
